Phu Quoc International Airport has been officially managed and operated by Sun Group since January 1, 2026. The airport is currently undergoing major upgrades and expansion to become a nationally strategic infrastructure project, serving as a vital aviation gateway connecting travelers from around the world to Phu Quoc — the most beautiful island in Asia and the third most beautiful island globally.

Architecture
The Phu Quoc International Airport project is undergoing large-scale investment, featuring a distinctive architectural concept inspired by the Phoenix — a symbol of rebirth, prosperity, resilience, and aspiration. The airport’s design, envisioned as a radiant phoenix spreading its wings, vividly reflects the powerful resurgence of Phu Quoc Island in particular and the broader advancement of Vietnam’s aviation industry as a whole.

Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) officially transferred the infrastructure assets of Phu Quoc International Airport to Sun Group, laying the foundation for the airport’s expansion project.
01 June 2025
The Government of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 01/2025/NQ-CP approving the expansion of the airport to serve APEC 2027.

Construction of the Phu Quoc Airport project (new airport in Duong To Commune) commenced, covering an area of approximately 905 hectares.
