1. Visa exemption for entry to Phu Quoc (up to 30 days)
According to current regulations of the Vietnamese Government, foreign nationals and Vietnamese citizens holding foreign passports entering, exiting, and staying on Phu Quoc Island are granted visa exemption for a temporary stay of up to 30 days.
This visa exemption policy applies to the following cases:
- Direct entry to Phu Quoc Island by air or sea from a foreign country.
- Entry into Vietnam through an international border gate, remaining within the transit area of that border gate, and then continuing the journey to Phu Quoc.

Important notes regarding the Phu Quoc visa exemption policy:
- The maximum visa-free stay is 30 days from the date of entry.
- This policy applies only within Phu Quoc Island.
- In cases where passengers wish to stay longer than 30 days or travel from Phu Quoc to other provinces or cities in Vietnam, they must apply for an appropriate Vietnamese visa in accordance with immigration regulations.
2. 45-day visa exemption for citizens of 13 countries
In addition to the specific policy for Phu Quoc, Vietnam is currently implementing a 45-day visa exemption for citizens of the following 13 countries, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, provided that all entry conditions under Vietnamese regulations are met:
Federal Republic of Germany, French Republic, Italian Republic, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland, Republic of Belarus.
Note:
- This visa exemption policy applies nationwide in Vietnam, not only to Phu Quoc Island.
- The maximum permitted stay under this policy is 45 days per entry.

3. Vietnam electronic visa (E-visa)
Passengers who are not eligible for visa exemption, or who wish to:
- Stay in Vietnam beyond the visa-free period;
- Travel from Phu Quoc to other provinces or cities in Vietnam;
- Enter Vietnam multiple times during their stay;
may apply for a Vietnam electronic visa (E-visa).
Basic information about the E-visa:
- Maximum validity: 90 days
- Entry type: Single entry or multiple entry (depending on visa type)
- Application method: Online via Vietnam’s official electronic visa system
Passengers are advised to complete visa procedures prior to travel and carefully review requirements from both the airline and immigration authorities to ensure a smooth and hassle-free entry process.
